Getting on the roof of kitchen on moon base

Hello.

1st: Congrats on the game. Good puzzles, more than once, i laughed out loud. Interesting storyline. I remember way back when VSB was first introduced and it's great to see the project reaches its fruitition.

2nd: I'm trying to reach the roof to mess up the ape's tv's reception. However, I do not know where to reach it? From the room with the ape, tv and cream pie? Is it from the moonbase map? Incidentally, I cannot reach the moonbase entrance as I cannot climb up the little stairs in front/left of the main tower. Is this a bug?

You're looking for the transmission tower, which can be reached from the map. Also, thankyou for the nice words, man

Nope, that way is supposed to be blocked. The only way back is through the hallway and the office.

I have now finished VSB. What an awesome game.
You should feel proud: full length game, funny, good puzzle (not too surrealist, just crazy enough), great final texts.

And SQ2-Vga is now out. What a glorious time for SQ fans,.

I *think* I have found a bug in this quest. I keep trying to use the walkie-talkie, but never can get Forksmith to show up on the roof.

I am using Version 1.0.2.0

I place the walkie talkie behind the antenna, get the cutscene in which GEN Forksmith's TV goes on the fritz, he gets up...

I leave the antenna rooftop, go to the main map; then go back, and Forksmith isn't trying to fix the antenna.

I go back into the Rec Room, and GEN Forksmith is back there, watching TV again. Since I no longer have the walkie talkie, I can't try the puzzle again.

Attached is a save file.

I think the bug is because the walkie talkie isn't properly removed from my inventory selection until I pick a new item.

Yeah...oops. That's a bug introduced in the latest update. Sorry about that. I'll get a fixed build out shortly.

Downloaded the new version, and I can now chain the general up to get his key with my old saves.

But when I've gotten the pie and hand it to the guards to enter the mad doctor's office for the second Key; I get a AGS error:

"ERROR: Room script data segment size has changed"

Does this mean I have to restart the game from the beginning?

EDIT: No wait, I got around it by reinstalling my original version which I had saved, and then loading the save game file I made after I got the custard pie.

Edit II: beat the game in the end, so crisis averted ultimately!

i had the same problem, now im stuck because i cant give the guards the pie without the game crashing. and i dont have the older version of the game to reinstall... new patch please? lol

Oh, uhh... it was General Forksmith, he crashed your game! For stealing his pie! It totally wasn't our fault.

...although we may still do a new patch to calm him down a bit.

Did you load a game saved in an older version? Because the error described by MKSheppard didn't sound like something we can otherwise fix. (The suggested recourse on that would probably to go back to the earliest save point that didn't cause the error, or to restart the game completely - sorry about that)

yeah, its the same error message... oh well, i guess ill have to go through the whole game again... at least it should be a quick run through now that i know exactly what to do
