I think that's the point.

Yeah, leave it like that, but maybe make it look more like a hologram. That thing's hilarious!

[18:00] <Tiki> er, the new outlines suck
[18:00] <Tiki> but
[18:00] <Tiki> other than that
[18:01] <pcj> the syringe shouldn't be a hologram
[18:01] <Tiki> oh
[18:01] <Tiki> I remembered not to do the white stuff around it :P
[18:01] <Tiki> other than that
[18:01] <Tiki> and a few missing lines on the face
[18:02] <Tiki> and general shakiness
[18:02] <pcj> yeh
[18:02] <Tiki> and the picture itself

Maybe we could play on McCoy's "Bones" nickname...like Doctor No-Bones or something better.

is it possible to make it look good? :D

Well, maybe...But the idea was to have him a bit distorted.

Also, I think it might be wiser to have an original Patrick Moore-ish face. We're also in the grey area in terms of the law, so I don't think we want somebody getting pissed because we're using his likeness.

Uh...Actually, Paramount doesn't really care about fan-works and parodies. It just says they're non-canon and leaves it at that.

See http://www.starwreck.com for details.

P.S. It's actually DeForest Kelley in that picture, not Patrick Moore. :P

but its still possible to make it look distorted without it looking like it was drawn using your teeth

Well, the sketch was originally a quick joke I whipped up in MS Paint, and then pcj suggested that we could use it as an actual game sprite, to have the character as a badly-drawn hologram, as the hologram is meant to be merely a makeshift artificial means to convey the doctor's essence, as he originates from a species of parallel dimension beings who have no visual form like what we're used to.

So, in short: he was projected into this universe with some cheap equipment and his visual form was created by some parallel universe equivalent of a scientist with bad drawing skills :P

Of course, you're quite welcome to make a sketch of your own interpretation of the character, as the background story for this is slightly dodgy anyway ;)

well if the doctor doesnt move around much, you could make his face appear on a triangular hologram thing like from "MST3K the movie". i dunno if you know what im talking about though :)
