Furkunz

Post by mjomble »

So, any other characters you'd be interested in designing? Perhaps the Furkunz, we never really figured out what they should exactly look like. At some point, Kain was going to give them lemur eyes or something and then it sort of drifted away and we haven't discussed their appearance since.

It would be good if they weren't too obvious an Ewok-ripoff, but still look furry and cute (but many of them acting 'tough' and trying to hide the cuteness) and all that.

Or, you might pick some other character(s) ;)

The way you describe them Justas, they sound like the Nibloanians, the species that Nibbler is a member of on Futurama.

Heh, I actually thought of that when writing the post, but then forgot to add it or something :P

So... sickeningly cute Teddy bear creatures, but with a subtle hint of lust for retribution?

(The above post was a picture of Fluffy and Uranus from Duckman if no one here hasn't seen it. They get killed every other episode.)

Yeah. And they'd have that thing, like with the Nibblers - they say they're serious and important and all that, but everyone just goes "Oooh! Look! He's so furry and cute! Awww!"

So they'd look cute but have sort of a frowned face or trying to act tough.

I can't help but wonder if I should put a price tag on him.

As usual, nice work!

And as usual, my comments (more of my personal opinion here, it may differ from those of the rest of the team):

I always imagined them as more chubby and with less of a neck. The eyes could be smaller. And I think it's a bit too much on the 'cute' side, could add some frowning or that fake toughness stuff. And perhaps make the nose black or dark brown.

Aye. I agree with Justas and pcj. Maybe you should ditch the brown fur too and make it blue-grayish, kinda like Justas' old sketch. Same goes for the skin. Currently they don't look like an animal you'd expect to find on an ice planet, if you know what I mean.

But maybe that was the whole point

if they live on that ice planet, you think they might wear warmer clothes? like eskimos? maybe even a blue nose
too make it less cute, you could make the eyes like the traditional aliens (greys)

Well, although they live on an ice planet, they're inside the caves which is somewhat like indoors. So they shouldn't really be dressed like eskimos but on the other hand, not too tropical either.

Yeah, but remember those caves are ice caves and it's possible for Roger to freeze to death in there. So while they actually live indoors, it's not really a warm place (NIN'D!) at all either.
